Gmail to Notion automation without building a Zap

With Gmail and Notion connected, resolvenengine can search your inbox, summarize the relevant messages and create a Notion page or append text to one you shared, with each write governed by your Allow, Ask or Deny policy.

Two ways to move email into Notion

The classic route is a trigger-based automation: every new email that matches a rule becomes a Notion database row. That works for predictable, high-volume flows such as form notifications. It works badly when the useful part of the email is buried in a thread, when you only want some messages, or when the Notion page needs a summary rather than a raw copy.

The conversational route is what resolvenengine does. You ask in plain language, the assistant reads the relevant emails, decides what matters and writes a clean summary to the Notion page you name. There is no rule to maintain, and nothing runs while you are not looking.

Set it up once

  1. 1Install resolvenengine from the Chrome Web Store and sign in with Google.
  2. 2Authorize Gmail separately. Account sign-in and Gmail access are two distinct consent steps.
  3. 3Connect Notion and select which pages and databases the connection may access. Only shared content is visible to the assistant.
  4. 4Keep Notion writes set to Ask so every page creation shows you an approval ticket first.

Requests that work well

  • "Find this week's emails from Acme about the contract and add a summary with open questions to my Acme client page in Notion."
  • "Summarize my unread emails from today and create a Notion page called Inbox digest, 25 September."
  • "Read the latest thread about the website launch and append the agreed dates to the Launch plan page."
  • "Find the invoice emails from last month and list sender, amount and date on my Finance notes page."

Each answer that relies on email content references the messages it used, so you can check the source before accepting the write.

What it does not do

  • It does not run in the background on a schedule. Each transfer starts with your request.
  • It cannot see Notion pages that were not shared with the connection during authorization.
  • It does not delete Notion pages or edit database properties; it creates pages, appends text and adds comments.
  • It does not send, delete or archive email as part of this workflow.

If you need every matching email copied automatically, around the clock, a trigger-based automation tool is the better choice. The two approaches can happily coexist.

Privacy and cost

Connector credentials are stored encrypted on the resolvenengine backend and bound to your account. Email content is sent to the AI provider you configured with your own key, only for the request you made. Pro is $19 USD per month; model usage is billed separately by your AI provider.

Frequently asked questions

Can I send Gmail emails to Notion automatically?
resolvenengine moves email content to Notion when you ask, not on an automatic trigger. It searches Gmail, summarizes and writes to the Notion page you name after your approval.
Does it need Zapier or Make?
No. Gmail and Notion are connected directly inside resolvenengine.
Can it add emails to a Notion database?
It can list entries of a shared database and create pages. Editing database properties is not available.
Will it write to Notion without asking?
Only if you set that operation to Allow. With Ask, every write creates an approval ticket first.
