Research the web without opening unnecessary tabs

Research requests use background search first, while visible tabs are reserved for pages that require interaction, a logged-in session, or visual inspection.

Background search comes first

Lists, comparisons, news research and open-web fact finding should not scatter tabs across your browser. resolvenengine uses bounded background search, reads relevant sources and returns a cited answer.

  • The current tab remains your workspace.
  • Source favicons represent the pages being researched.
  • The final answer includes the sources used.

When a visible tab is justified

A page opens only when the information needs your logged-in session, the task requires clicking or typing, or the rendered page cannot be understood reliably in the background.

An explicit request to work in the current tab always takes priority over a generic research route.

Research has limits and a stopping rule

Search, page reads and visual fallbacks have time and size ceilings. Repeated failures do not create an endless loop; the answer reports what was verified and what could not be reached.

Frequently asked questions

Will research open five tabs for five sources?
No. Normal research runs in the background and cites the sources. Tabs are used only when interaction or visual access is necessary.
Can I ask it to open a result?
Yes. An explicit request to open or interact with a source is different from a research-only request.
