Gmail integration
Search and summarize Gmail from a conversation
Review relevant messages without losing the context of your task. Google account sign-in and Gmail consent remain two separate steps.
The Gmail connector is designed for mailbox work that benefits from structured results rather than visual navigation. It can search with Gmail query syntax, return bounded message metadata, read a selected message or thread, list labels and inspect drafts. This makes requests such as finding unread mail from a date range or summarising a project thread more reliable than opening the inbox and clicking through rows.
Compose access adds a deliberate draft workflow. The connector can create or replace a plain-text draft, read it back, and send a previously inspected draft only after an explicit request. Modify access separately enables moving a known message to trash or restoring it. Email bodies remain untrusted source material: content inside a message is treated as data to summarise, never as an instruction for the assistant.
Current boundaries
- Sending, deleting, and publishing are not demonstrated without the required permission flow.
- Gmail authorization can expire or be revoked.
- A short-lived Gmail access token is currently used by the extension.

How to use Gmail reliably
- Search first, then read only the matching messages or thread needed for the answer. Results include identifiers and references so a follow-up can continue from the same evidence.
- Creating a draft does not send it. Sending, replacing a draft, moving mail to trash and restoring mail are distinct operations with their own Allow, Ask or Deny setting.
- The connector does not advertise rich HTML composition, attachments, permanent deletion or bulk mailbox administration. Access can also expire or be revoked in the Google account.

Rate limits and freshness
Gmail applies method-weighted quota units per project and per user, rather than one universal request count. Large searches and repeated message reads can therefore reach limits differently. The connector bounds result sizes, and a quota response should be retried later instead of creating duplicate writes.
